Models
As some of you know one of my Passions is Building Models, Apart from my RC Helicopter that my wife got for me Christmas 1998 which has flown, I build the plastic kit type, Personally I like Tamiya as there detailing is very good, In my house the Attic is my Sanctuary, I build my Models up there, in the last year I have built a 1/48th Chieftain Tank, My Dad was a tank commander so I got some photos of his old tank, and made it look like that, it took me about 3 months on and off to build, but it look very good, I was pleased with it, and gave it to my Dad for his desk.
I also built a Tamiya Ford Focus rally car, I did this with my eldest Son, who is slowly getting into building model, but we customised this one, instead of using the decals we sprayed it Ford Blue with a white stripe down the centre looks, really good,
Now im building a model of the Bismarck, a 1/350 series, its 39 inches long, I’ve been working on it since January, and have most of the Hull and superstructure done, it’s about ready for paint now. I expect it to be ready for display in July, August; I will be displaying it at the Local Model club.
I have a purpose built area where I build my Models, it has the lot, A roof light for Natural light, lots of space for the paints, the plethora of brushes, Files, Scalpels, Clamps, Cloths Pegs [Oh Yes nothing better for clamping two bits together], glues- many different types, Masking Tape, Liquid Masking, My trusty Airbrush, and about 100 different paints. I’ve already got an idea to build HMS Hood next to go with the Bismarck, After that I don’t really know possibly another Car although I might build another bike as stop gap between the next big project, Have to admit, if I won the Lottery I would buy a model shop I just love them, when I lived in London I used to go to a Model Shop in Willesden, I spent hours in there and built some great models, Keep a look out im going to post some pix soon of models built over the last year.
