Torchwood
Well I suppose we all have perks in our jobs, one of mine is getting to play with some really cool equipment and to work with the latest films, TV programs, and Demos
This evening we got to run “Torchwood” for the BBC, only this time it was in HD, projected via our BARCO D100 head and Kinoton Console, God it looked good,
We ran the tape from a Sony J3 HD cam player, into our Acsar unit via HD-SDI it looked stunning, Sound went through our Sony SDDS 8 Channel Processor, for the uneducated the 8 Channels are as follows Left, Left Center, Center, Right Center, Right, Right Surround, Left Surround.
Im reliable told that Torchwood is an anagram of Dr Who, apparently that’s the code name they used to use to when transporting the prints.
Did not watch much of it, but i love this technology, forget your Sky HD, or Blue ray, HDDVD, im telling you when its got a 6kw Special Xenon blasting through it, your getting 16 Foot Lamberts on the screen, theres no TV that can beat that.
