The Week That Was
Well another week is over, lets just say that the last two days have been a battle, Thursday starts off with my Regional Manager holding a conference in one of our screens, followed by 2 screens of Grease on DVD, and a regional premiere of “History Boys”, well clearly the most important of these is the Regional Manager as its she who signs off the Pay rises, Happy to say all went well, The history Boys premiere went off with out a hitch and the Grease DVD screens, well lets just say i remember showing that film when we ran it Spool to Spool, i had the unpleasant experience of being the Part time Projectionist who covered the Opening week of that at the “Filmworld” Cinema ran it 27 times, god i hate that film, so to see it on DVD was not the most exciting experience of the week.
Friday morning started off with me heading off to work with no money, as i left my street my reserve light came on so it was touch and go if i would get home, yet another Conference for the regional manager, and a different screen, cant see why they cant stay in the say screen, but never the less it went down well, and i got a bottle of wine for my troubles from her so things must have been good. However i’ve got the BBC here on Wednesday, Nothing with the BBC is simple so it’s all hands to the deck so to speak, know one actually knows what they are doing apart from its using HD and we are using one of our DLP systems, still should be good.
I head on Friday night home with the Yellow Reserve light constant reminding me that you’re running on Vapours, but got home, grabbed some money and headed for the local Petrol station, Im telling you it ran out of fuel insight of the petrol station, talk about being lucky.
We also started operation Grandma today, my mum is coming to stay for a few days next week so its time to tidy, tidy and tidy again, I have a feeling that me and the kids will be treading on egg shells this week, in fear of putting something down that might leave a mark, stain or blemish on any of the highly polished surfaces im sure at one stage if we stood still long enough we would get polished and dusted.
And Finally the Media Player is working well, you can here the fans running, but I plan to mount the whole unit of sound deadening foam rubber soon, the more pressing thing is that in a space off one day they have managed to lose the remote control, typical, as I was planning on grabbing some shots of the interface menu to show on the Blog, but im sure during operation Grandma all manner of lost things will turn up.
