Bingo-Agogo-Gone to Vista View
Greetings earthlings, i come in peace, well it was back with a bang on Monday morning, after a very nice week off, the grim reality of work was back, and as per usual it was raining,
Monday was spent messing around with the Bingo equipment only to find at the end of Monday night after spending some 100 + Hrs on the project that the program has been dropped due to legal reasons, Oh well least we got to play with some nice kit, Tuesday was our yearly Christmas Party which was very enjoyable, with some really drunk Managers, but then what else did i expect,
On to Thursday we got to host the Northern Regional Microsoft Vista Road Show, Having run XP for such a long time we know that its due to be released by Vista, well the bit i got to see of it looked very good, although they have clearly taken some ideas from there Competitors Mac, but it looks good. They did a clean install from a formatted drive to up and running in just over 10 mins which is good, this was all done off a USB key, you can also use you USB key as extra memory on the PC to help speed it up. Once the event was up and running it was an ideal time to procure the very much sought after Lanyards that we keep as trophy’s of the events we have done, having spotted a very nice pile on the AMD stand we managed to procure enough to supply all my team who worked on the vent, i also managed to obtain a “KINGSTON” red stress head, I was somewhat disappointed that i could not get a 4GB memory key but i will say it was not from lack of trying, the only downside is that you have to listen to there sales bulshit,
After getting up at 04:15 on Thursday morning i was looking forward to getting home a chilling Thursday night, oh no, as i walked in the house Dana informs me that a Kitchen Sales person is coming around, Now i have natural dislike for sales people and i don’t hide it, i mean a real dislike for them, Well she strolls up and starts giving us all the spiel, what doors you can have, what handles, and all the normal stuff, finally she comes up with a price of around £6,000 which was not that bad, so taking that price as starting point for negations to start i ask her how much for Cash in you hand, would you believe me if i said she said “My Bank Charges 3% for cash deposits”, well that was my cue and needless to say within 30 seconds she had her bags packed , her coat on was on her way out of the house with the words, F*** Off ringing in her ears , by the time she had started her car i was at having a nice cup of coffee, god i hate sale persons.
And finally we have our tree up, after much hassle from my darling offspring our nice fibre optic tree is up and it looks beautiful,
Until next time people be safe
