Perils of Polishing
After dealing with the rear hugger and front one, then the mudguards all was looking spic and span, so outcomes the cockpit shines, as used to polish the plastic on the clocks, switch gear and so forth.
Well after about 3 hours of hard graft the bike was looking very shinny in deed,
So move on to 07:00 this morning i start my bike up and let it warm up, as pulled the clutch in and selected first gear, i thought this does not feel right, as i went to let the clutch out the lever nearly slipped out of my hand, as i narrowly missed Dana very expensive MPV, i then realised that the cockpit shine had in fact shined everything and making it nigh on impossibly to grab, as i rode on down the road i then realised that the seat was slightly slippery as well, as i lent around the left hand corner i started to slip to the left not the best thing to happen, and as they say things happen in 3’s
As i progressed down the M602 towards work i went to brake, yes the bike braked it braked really well, unfortunately the shinny seat had the grip characteristics of a oil slick, and as the bike slowed i started to move forward , fortunately i managed to stop myself hurtling onto the petrol tank using my nards as rollers.
So the moral of the story is Yes its nice to have a clean shinny bike but maybe not a good idea to use a certain brand of Cockpit shine on your clutch lever and seat, i swear at one stage as i lent over to the right to loop around a round-a-bout my knee was nearly on the floor and my arse was well and truly off the seat, The guy behind me must have thought i was trying to get off.
Whilst waiting to pay for the petrol id just put into my bike, i got my wife some Love hearts sweets, you know those sweets that have the silly sayings on them , i thought this will be a nice gesture, a bit of a laugh, So when she and my Daughter came in from church, i said Darling ive got you a present
My god how wrong could i be, you would have thought id had brought her a life times subscription to the KKK,just proves that 17 years means absolutely nothing, guess i'll never understand how the female mind works
