The Dilemma of Data Sheets

One of the projects ive been working on [Can i please state 2 other people started and failed this project] is to update and improve the MSDS data sheets, basically a data sheet is a document with a breakdown of what the chemical is made up of .

And the reason why we have them is just incase a real plank goes and swallows it, then ive got the Data Sheets to give the paramedics along with there P45.

Anyway id been putting this off for a while, we have 28 Nominated chemicals, i had a feeling it was going to be a drag as i hit upon a few issues,

FD120 oil a simple oil, nothing serious about it oil is oil, i ended up called Century strong in Omaha in the US of A and getting them to email me it, even through the company over here where i spend a small fortune there, were asked 3 times.

Bluecol Anti-Freeze, we will never ever use this again, gave up trying to track down a UK supplier so i ended up calling Pennzoil in America, credit to them they sent it pretty dam quick

Comfort Vitality, those bloody stupid antistatic sheets that you used to toss into the tumble dryer, Well in the age when films used to eject themselves off the platters at an alarming rate due to static build-up, these were the thing to use, made your films smell nice as well but god they were doing my head in, finally tracked them down to Lever Brothers in Warrington, 4 different departments only to be told they discontinued them last year

Sainsbury’s Brass & Copper Polish, this took about 5 hours to track down, finally got through the Sainsbury’s customer help line, were i was offered online shopping, online loans, mobile phones, finally i get through to Barbara, who was terribly polite, only to be told its discontinued.

Rosco Lens cleaning fluid, brought not 4 miles up the road, and i buy this stuff by the gallon load, and i can tell you it aint cheap, well guess what ? Yep had to call Glendale California to get that little gem

So i now know i can sleep sound at night knowing our MSDS data is up to date, just waiting for some plank to have a drink of Bluecol Anti freeze whilst slipping on FD120 Oil, and wiping of the stain on his mouth with a comfort vitality sheet and you can polish your brass and copper work whilst your doing it, if he does then im the man to speak to.

I hoping that the next project is better

Have fun
